Getting an Ipod Classic Free With a Mobile Phone
The Ipod Classic (120GB) is an updated version of the original Ipod, and it really is updated! The Ipod Classic holds up to 30,000 songs, 25,000 pictures and 150 hours of video. A very worthy free gift with a mobile phone!
Advantages of the Ipod Classic
The battery life for audio is 36 hours, a definite improvement on the 24 hours for the Ipod Nano. Fast charge is also improved at 2 hours for 80% battery capacity. Six hours of video playback time on a fully charged battery. The visual quality of the video is also very good, as long as the Ipod Classic screen is not smudged with fingerprints. Another plus is the size of the screen, at 61.8mm wide it provides a good size for watching films on the go. To put music on your Ipod Classic, you will need Itunes but the good thing is that Itunes is free to download from the internet. The pricing of songs for the Ipod Classic is also very reasonable and by using Itunes you can be sure that all the music you download is legal and the correct amount of money goes to the artist (something you cannot be sure of when using illegal sharing sites such as Limewire). The design of the Ipod Classic is the same as all the Ipod's with the distinctive "click wheel" control pad. The click wheel responds to the lightest touch so is very easy to work with.
Disadvantages of the Ipod Classic
The fast charge option for the Ipod Classic takes 2 hours for 80% battery capacity so when we read that the full charge option take double that at 4 hours we were a little disappointed. To get that extra 20% of battery life on the Ipod Classic you need another 2 hours. The Ipod Classic has 120GB of memory so naturally it is larger than the slimmer Ipod Nano. Sometimes though the Ipod Classic is a little too bulky and is obvious to an outsider if you're hiding it in your pocket. The classic Ipod earphones that are supplied with the Ipod Classic have a habit of breaking easily. Many users of the Ipod Classic have reported this is because of the popular way of storing the earphones to prevent knots, by winding the cables around the player. A typical set of earphones last an average of 6 months. If Apple could produce a product that enabled the Ipod earphones to be stored without winding and therefore stretching the cables than that would be very popular! The same scratches problem encountered with the Ipod Nano are evident here; the metal back gets very easily damaged even if you're a very careful user. The matte front also shows up fingerprints very easily.
Summary of the Ipod Classic
A bulky, yet well designed and spectacular piece of technology, ideal for long distance travelling.
Our Verdict on the Ipod Classic
The Ipod Classic is a brilliant new version of the original Ipod. The new features of video and picture storage are definitely very welcome!
A fantastic product, 8/10 but only because of the bulky size and the easy breakage of the earphones.
